Fuel Rights Handbook 21st edition

Chapter 3: The right to a supply
This chapter assumes that you are legally responsible (‘liable’) for your fuel supply. Check Chapter 5 to ensure that you are in fact responsible for the supply.
Has your supplier gone out of business?
If your energy supplier goes into administration, your supply is protected. Ofgem will move you to a new supplier. Your supply should be preserved and the tariff and price plan will not change. Any credit balance should be preserved. You may switch supplier (if you want to) once a new supplier is appointed.
