Child support
At the date of sequestration, any arrears of child maintenance are included in the bankruptcy application and discharges.
If a deduction from earnings order (DEO) is in place, the bankruptcy stops it and there should be no further collection of the arrears after the date of sequestration.
The DEO should be noted on BASYS so that the AiB can get it stopped.
The client must continue to pay on-going liabilities.
