6. Dealing with priority debts
Certain debts to the educational institution may need to be treated as priorities because of the consequences of non-payment. Wherever non-payment carries a legitimate threat of loss of accommodation, the debt should be treated as a priority (as outlined in Chapter 8). However, in addition, there are some cases where the threat of not being able to continue with study or not being allowed to graduate leads to prioritisation.
