If you are found to have a limited capability for work-related activity, you are placed in the support group. In this group, you do not have to take part in work-related activities, although you can volunteer to do so.

If you are placed in the support group, you get a higher rate of ESA than if placed in the work-related activity group and your award may continue for as long as you continue to meet the qualifying conditions and remain in the support group; it will not be limited to 12 months.
