Explain the principles of debt advice
Debt advice follows five underlying principles – that the service offered is:
    free;
    confidential;
    impartial;
    non-discriminatory;
    non-judgemental.
These principles ensure that all people can access advice and that the advice they receive is unbiased and in the client’s best interest.
Explaining these principles and what they mean to a client can reinforce the key message that their choices are respected and that they can be open and honest about their situation.
