Smart metersSmart meters remove the need for bills to be estimated at all, allowing you to pay only for the fuel you actually use and end the need to provide your supplier with regular meter readings. Meter operatives also no longer need to attend your home to read your meter. These digital meters are currently being introduced across the UK to replace traditional meters. The government aims to install smart meters in every UK household by 2025 (see here).
