Suppliers are under an obligation to take all reasonable steps to obtain accurate meter readings from customers annually or monthly from a remote transmission reading by a smart meter.1Condition 21B.4 SLC

The supplier may fulfil its obligation by accepting a meter reading which you take and supply to the company, which should then be reflected in your next bill.2Condition 21B.4 SLC If the supplier does not accept your reading, it is under an obligation to take all reasonable steps to contact you to obtain a further reading3Condition 21B.2 SLC or it must obtain its own reading.
