2. When you are liable for an electricity bill

• Your liability when you have signed for the supply
• Your liability when you contacted the supplier by telephone
• Your liability when you contacted the supplier online
• Your liability when no one has contacted the supplier
• Your liability when someone else has been responsible for the supply
• Sending the bill to another person
• Privity of contract

In this section, all references to ‘the bill’ refer only to ‘charges due’ for the supply of electricity and do not include other charges such as credit sales charges for appliances. See here for more information about ‘charges due’.

Your liability for the bill depends on how, or even whether, you contacted the supplier to say you required a supply of electricity.
