Your child’s award of CDP may be reviewed at some point in the future. The decision notice will tell you when this will take place. 1DACYP(S) Regs, reg 30

Short-term assistance – If your child has been receiving CDP and a decision is made to either terminate or reduce that award on review, you can be given ‘short-term assistance’ (STA) while you are challenging the decision. This will allow the previous payment amount to continue, with the STA making up the difference. You should be offered the option of receiving STA when you ask for the redetermination or appeal (see 13 above).
