1. Introduction
In Scotland, the main disability benefits are being transferred to the Scottish government. The introduction has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
The first new benefit to be introduced will be ‘child disability payment’, which replaces disability living allowance (DLA); pilots are due to take place from 26.7.21, and a full roll out across Scotland is planned from autumn. In time, ‘adult disability payment’ will be replacing personal independence payment and ‘pension age disability payment’ will be replacing attendance allowance.
