Third-party deductions and Debt Arrangement Scheme
Clients getting benefits can access DAS if they meet the criteria. If the client has third-party deductions for anything other than ongoing rent, they should be included. It is the responsibility of the creditor to write to the DWP to stop these deductions and debt advisers should be mindful that creditors are not being paid twice – ie, through the DPP and by third-party deductions.
