Debt Advice Handbook Scotland 1st ed - with new material

Preparing the application
The debt adviser must apply for a DPP using eDEN, the DAS IT system. Neither the adviser nor the client needs to sign the application form. However, the debt adviser must tick the declaration box on the form that the client has been given advice and has consented to proceed with the application without signing it.
If the client prefers to sign the form, you can print the completed application from eDEN, ask the client to sign, and post to the DAS administrator.
Note: if clients have not previously applied for a statutory moratorium, they do not have protection from any creditor enforcement until their application has been accepted by the DAS administrator and the DPP proposal issued to creditors.
