Chapter 15: How income affects universal credit
This chapter explains how much weekly income is taken into account when working out your entitlement to universal credit (UC). If you are getting income support, income-based jobseeker’s allowance, income-related employment and support allowance or housing benefit, see Chapter 16. If you are getting child tax credit or working tax credit, see Chapter 17.

Loans and grants are taken into account as income during the academic year, but ignored in the summer vacation.
