3. Who is affected by economic abuse
Although women experience the majority of economic abuse, it crosses all social boundaries and kinds of relationships. It can be committed by friends, family members, neighbours, work colleagues and carers, and can affect more than just the victim, such as children and other family members.
Abusive relationships do not differentiate based on sexuality, age, religion, ethnic background or income. Those with high educational attainment and high income can also be affected: it could happen to anyone.
