Standard credit meter
A standard meter measures electricity consumption in kilowatt hours (kWh) – the number of units of energy used in an hour. With this type of meter, all electricity units are charged at the same rate 24 hours a day. Most standard meters have an electronic or digital display showing a row of numbers. Older meters may have a dial display with four or more dials, each with a pointer.
