16. Notional income
If income would be available to you on application, you are treating as having that income, whether or not you apply for it. This is called
‘notional’ income. However, this rule does not apply to the list of benefits in
10 above .
Once you reach pension age (see
Chapter 42(2) ), you will be treated as having any retirement pension income that may be available to you on application, whether or not you apply for it. The main types of retirement pension income are listed in
11 above .
