Entitlement to JSA lasts for a total of six months (182 days). This can be one spell of unemployment lasting for six months or more than one spell of unemployment where you make shorter claims for JSA but your entitlement in each of those claims is based on the same two tax years. Once your 182 days are exhausted, you can only re-qualify when you begin a new ‘jobseeking period’ and your new JSA claim is based on different tax years (see 5 above ).
