2. Do you qualify?
To qualify for PIP, you must:
    ■claim PIP (see 14 below ); and
    ■pass the PIP assessment (see 9 below ); and
    ■be within the age limits (see 3 below ); and
    ■meet the required period condition (see 4 below ); and
    ■not be subject to immigration control (see Chapter 51(2) ); and
    ■pass the residence and presence tests (see Chapter 51(3) ).
If you meet all these conditions, you are entitled to PIP. You keep your underlying entitlement to PIP even if other rules mean that payment has been suspended (see 6 , 7 and 8 below). If you are already receiving disability living allowance, you cannot get PIP at the same time; see Box B.5 for details of the re-assessment process.
