The First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber)
Landlords can apply to the tribunal for eviction and repossession orders where they consider that they have ground(s) for eviction. This covers all tenancies in the private sector.
Members of the chamber comprise legal members and ordinary members. Ordinary members are surveyors or housing members. When they consider and decide a case they are referred to as a tribunal.     a legal member alone; or
    a legal member and one ordinary member; or
    a legal member with two ordinary members.
This chapter looks at how an application for rent arrears and/or repossession is carried out in the chamber. Different types of tenancies have slightly different procedures, but, for simplicity, we concentrate on where the same rules apply.
