MATRICS learn
MATRICS learn is a blended-learning platform developed to update learning approaches and allow advisers to progress their learning in a controlled, step-by-step way.
It is also used to accredit debt advisers who are not automatically accredited through their agency to deliver the Debt Arrangement Scheme and sign certificates for sequestration.
It is based on a ‘flipped-learning’ approach, putting the emphasis on the learner, not the tutor, and moving away from traditional behaviourist learning to social constructivist learning, where learners are encouraged to learn from each other.
The innovative programme is fully learner-centred and promotes knowledge input via bite-sized e-learning modules, followed by discussion groups and workshops considering practical examples to deepen understanding.
It is designed to help advisers progress their learning and deepen their understanding as they go through the learning pathway. Due to the current and expected demand for more debt advisers in Scotland, the MATRICS partnership has prioritised and expanded the provision of training for new debt advisers. Advisers can work through the elearning with self-assessment at their own pace and join the live peer and tutor groups for that crucial link to practical application and confidence building.
