You may be entitled to help with all or part of your rent through housing benefit. If you apply for pension credit, you will be asked if you want to claim housing benefit. If you are not entitled to pension credit, you may still be eligible; in this case, claim directly from the local authority, not the DWP. See Chapter 27 for details.
