5. Care and mobility
Attendance allowance – This is a benefit for ill or disabled people who have reached pension age and have care or supervision needs. There is no upper age limit. See Chapter 5 for details.
Personal independence payment – If you have reached pension age, you cannot claim personal independence payment for the first time. However, if you were getting personal independence payment before you reached pension age, you can retain your entitlement as long as you continue to meet the other qualifying conditions. See Chapter 4(3).
