This chapter explains how capital affects your entitlement to income support, income-based jobseeker’s allowance and income-related employment and support allowance. It also applies to housing benefit (HB) if you and your partner are under pension age. Chapter 23 explains the rules for pension credit and for HB if you or your partner are over pension age. For universal credit, see Chapter 8. For the capital limits for health benefits, see Chapter 31. There are no capital rules for non-means-tested benefits.
