You can normally only appeal against a decision after you have first asked for it to be redetermined (except for process appeals – see below). You can use the appeal form which is included with the redetermination notice (or the notice that SSS have not been able to deal with the redetermination in time). The form is also available at: www.mygov.scot/make-appeal-paper-form . You can appeal by calling 0800 182 2222 (Relay UK 18001 then 0300 244 4000). If you are deaf and use British Sign Language, you can use a video relay service ( https://contactscotland-bsl.org ).

Your appeal must give your name and address (and that of your representative, if you have one), an address where documents can be sent to you if your own address is inappropriate, details of the decision being appealed (the date of the decision or redetermination and the name of the benefit), grounds for your appeal and, if your appeal is late, the reason for the delay.
