How much do you get? – Carer support payment is £86.45 a week; the same rate as carer’s allowance. Scottish carer supplement is £11.70 a week. Carer additional person payment is £10.40 a week.

How are you paid? – Each payment of carer support is normally made every four weeks in arrears, unless you have been moved from carer’s allowance or you, or the person you care for, are terminally ill, in which case they can paid weekly if you wish.

If the person you care for dies – Carer support can continue for up to 12 weeks after the person you care for dies. You must continue to meet all the qualifying conditions other than those related to the care of a disabled person or that person’s receipt of a qualifying benefit.
