Pension credit can help meet certain housing costs (see Chapter 25 ). You may get housing benefit to help with rent (see Chapter 21 ) and help from your local authority towards your council tax (see Chapter 26 ). If you get the guarantee credit, you will be passported to full housing benefit and council tax reduction, and may be entitled to help with health costs, such as free dental treatment (see Chapter 49 ), and with hospital travel fares (see Chapter 53(2) ). If you receive either element, you may get help from the social fund (see Chapter 27 ), budgeting loans ( Chapter 29(3) ) and support for mortgage interest loans (see Chapter 24 ).
