2. Do you qualify
To be entitled to ‘new style’ JSA, you must meet all the following conditions.
    ■You are not working 16 hours or more a week (see 3 below ).
    ■You do not have a limited capability for work (see 4 below ).
    ■You meet the work-related conditions (see below).
    ■You are under pension age (see Chapter 42(2) ).
    ■You are not in full-time education.
    ■You are in Great Britain (GB) (see Chapter 52(6) for exceptions).
    ■You meet the contribution conditions (see 5 below ).

Work-related conditions
You have to meet certain work-related conditions which are recorded in a ‘claimant commitment’. Your benefit is likely to be sanctioned if you fail to meet a work-related condition, though hardship payments of universal credit may be available. For details, see Chapters 17 to 19.
