4. The rules about your age
Winter heating payment has no age rules. However, you must meet the age rules for the qualifying benefit (see
here).
You can only get child winter heating payment for a child who is under 19 during the qualifying week (see
here).
1Regs 2 and 4(1)(a) WHACYP(S) RegsYou can only get pension age winter heating payment if you reach pension age by the end of the qualifying week.
2Regs 2 and 6 WHA(PA)(S) Regs Your payment may be higher if you are over 80 in that week.
