•You may get winter heating payment if you get a means-tested benefit and meet other conditions. It replaces cold weather payments in Scotland.
•A child or young person may get child winter heating payment if they get a high rate of a disability benefit.
•If you are over pension age, you may get pension age winter heating payment. It replaces winter fuel payments in Scotland.
•All three are single, annual payments. To qualify, you or a child must meet the entitlement conditions on a qualifying date.
•Payments are normally made automatically with no need to claim them.
•Payments are disregarded as income for means-tested benefits and can be paid in addition to most other benefits.
•Payments are administered and paid by Social Security Scotland.
