You may qualify for help with prescription charges, hospital travel costs, dental treatment, sight tests and glasses. If your income and savings are low, claim on form HC1, available from the doctor, dentist or optician or by ringing 0300 123 0849. You qualify automatically if you get income-related employment and support allowance, income-based jobseeker’s allowance or income support. If you get tax credits or universal credit you may qualify, depending on the level of your earnings. See Chapter 53 .
