If you are working less than 16 hours a week, you are eligible for jobseeker’s allowance (JSA). You must still sign on for work and actively look for, and be available to take up, a full-time job. Earnings above the earnings disregard affect the amount you get (see Chapter 13(9) ).

If you still get income-based JSA and your partner works, the work must be for less than 24 hours a week; their earnings will affect the amount of your benefit (see Chapter 24(4) -(6)).
