9. How pension credit is paid
For people who started claiming pension credit before 6.4.10, it is normally paid weekly in advance on a Monday. If you reach pension age from 6.4.10 onwards, it is normally paid weekly, fortnightly or four weekly in arrears, with the payday determined by your national insurance number.
If your pension credit payment is less than £1 a week, it may be paid at 13-week intervals in arrears. If the weekly amount is less than 10p, no pension credit will be paid unless it can be paid with another benefit. See
Chapter 58(5) for more about benefit payments.
