10. Alternative payments
Alternative payments will only be made if it is considered that you genuinely cannot manage with the usual way of payment and as a result there would be a risk of financial harm to you or your family. Alternative payments could include:
•more frequent payments, eg bi-monthly;
•payments split between partners (rather than a single payment); and/or
•rent being paid direct to the landlord.
Alternative payments are designed to be time limited, with support put in place to help you transfer to monthly budgeting.
If you are refused alternative payments, there is no right of appeal but you can ask the DWP to look at the decision again.
