Debt Advice Handbook 15th edition

Acknowledgements
The production of this edition has been made possible by a number of other authors who have contributed their specialist expertise.
Dawn Jennings from the Money Advice Trust significantly re-worked and updated the chapter on business debts. Lynsey Dalton from Cambridge House Law Centre updated the chapter on maximising income, David Malcolm updated the chapter on student debts, John Kruse revised the enforcement agent (bailiff) chapter and Mark Newbury authored the new section on benefit overpayments, which appears in Chapter 4. Alexa Walker from Shelter updated the chapter on stages of debt advice as well as advising on the reorganisation of the Handbook.
I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the authors of previous editions of this book, most notably Mike Wolfe.
Thank you to my former colleagues at Citizens Advice Specialist Support, Marina Gallagher, Lorraine Charlton and Joe McShane for checking and making useful comments on the text.
Thanks are also due to Mark Brough, Rhys Stephens, Mark Willis and Keith Houghton for their valuable contributions. Many thanks to Shelter’s Specialist Debt Advice Service for its valuable feedback.
I am most grateful to Bridget Giles for producing this edition. Thanks also to Anne Ketley for producing the index, to Pauline Phillips for proofreading the text and to Bryce Payton for typesetting the pages.
