hereNew claims for disability living allowance (DLA) can only be made for children under 16. People aged between 16 and pension age who have a disability can claim personal independence payment (PIP) (see
Chapter 35). When a child who gets DLA turns 16, s/he is usually invited to claim PIP (see
here).
If you are 16 or over but were under 65 on 8 April 2013 and were already getting DLA, you will be invited to claim PIP (see
here).
