The following payments made in the past 12 months are disregarded:
■
social fund or local welfare assistance
payments;
■
the initial lump-sum payment of bereavement support payment;
■
discretionary payments from social care departments to help children in need or to provide help to young care leavers;
■
Best Start grants, young carer grant, winter heating payment, child winter heating payment, pension age winter heating payment and funeral support payment (Scotland);
■
any payment under the Energy Rebate scheme;
or
■
other statutory payments made to you to meet your welfare needs related to your old age or disability, other than for living expenses (see
15 above
).
Victoria Cross and George Cross payments are disregarded.

The Universal Credit (Energy Rebate Scheme Disregard) Regulations 2022
If you have an online account under the Tax-Free Childcare scheme, 80% of that is taken into account as capital; the remaining 20% is disregarded.
