Child disability payment (CDP) helps towards the extra costs of bringing up a disabled child or young person* in Scotland. It has two parts: a mobility component and a care component. CDP is, to a large extent, modelled on disability living allowance (DLA), the benefit it has replaced. Where the rules are the same as those for DLA, we refer to the relevant place in Chapter 3 . CDP can give you access to other types of help – the list is similar to that for DLA (see Box B.1 in Chapter 3).
