When is a money attachment competent
There are strict time limits for when a money attachment can be carried out. It cannot be carried out on a Sunday or a public holiday, and not before 8am and after 8pm. When making the attachment, sheriff officers must enquire as to the ownership of the money attached and try to ensure that the money is owned by the client.3s177 BD(S)A 2007
A sheriff officer must attach and remove from the premises any money found, but only to the amount owed plus interest and expenses.
