Alternatives to prosecution
COPFS looks at every individual case to decide whether:
•to prosecute; or
•not to prosecute; or
•not to prosecute at the moment; or
•issue a warning; or
•offer a fixed penalty notice (road-traffic offences); or
•offer a fiscal fine.
