This chapter covers some of the services and programmes designed to help you get and remain in work. Some schemes pay allowances or provide services to make finding work easier, others seek to compel you to find work by cutting or removing your benefit if you do not take particular actions recommended to you.
Most people who claim working-age benefits (ie universal credit, ‘new style’ employment and support allowance and ‘new style’ jobseeker’s allowance) have a ‘work coach’ allocated to them to deal with claims and provide information on work and training opportunities.
