1. Introduction
In Scotland, the main disability benefits have been transferred to the Scottish government and are administered by Social Security Scotland. ‘Child disability payment’ has replaced disability living allowance: see 2 to 8 below. ‘Adult disability payment’ has replaced personal independence payment: see 9 to 15 below. ‘Pension age disability payment’ is replacing attendance allowance; pilots are due to take place from autumn 2024, and a full roll out across Scotland is planned from early 2025: see 16 to 21 below.
