5. The amount of benefit
Child benefit and guardian’s allowance are paid at the following weekly rates.

Guardian’s allowance | 21.75 |
The
higher rate of child benefit is paid for the eldest (or only) child in a family.
2Reg 2(1) CB(R) Regs If you live with your partner and both of you receive child benefit for a child from a previous relationship, the higher rate is only paid to the person who has the eldest child.
