2. Whose capital counts
If you are a member of a couple (see here), you must usually make a joint claim for universal credit (UC) and your partner’s capital is added to yours when working out your entitlement (see here).1s5(2) WRA 2012
In the limited circumstances when you must make a single claim for UC despite being a member of a couple (see here), your partner’s capital (and income) is still added to yours.2Reg 18(2) UC Regs
