9. Carer’s allowance and carer support payment
If your child gets the middle or highest rate of the care component of disability living allowance or child disability payment, or either rate of the daily living component of personal independence payment or adult disability payment, you may get carer’s allowance (or, in Scotland, carer support payment) for looking after them (see
Chapter 8). Carer’s allowance and carer support payment are not means tested, but if you are working, you cannot earn more than £139 a week (after deductions for certain allowable expenses) – see
Chapter 8(5).
