You claim carer’s allowance (CA) for yourself. You cannot claim any increase in your CA for an adult dependant, or normally claim for a child. Some claimants who received increases for children before 6 April 2003 can continue to receive them. See p559 of the 2021/22 edition of this Handbook for further details.
