1. Introduction
In Scotland, the main disability benefits are being transferred to the Scottish government.
The first new benefit to be introduced is ‘child disability payment’, which is replacing disability living allowance: see 2 to 7 below. ‘Adult disability payment’ will be replacing personal independence payment; pilots are due to take place from 21.3.22, and a full roll out across Scotland is planned from 29.8.22: see 8 to 12 below. There are common rules to these benefits: see 13 to 21 below.
‘Pension age disability payment’ will be replacing attendance allowance from 2023.
