•Adult disability payment (ADP) is a new benefit for adults who live in Scotland with a disability or long-term health condition.
•ADP will replace personal independence payment (PIP) for new claims by September 2022. PIP claimants living in Scotland will be transferred to ADP.
•ADP has a daily living component and a mobility component. You can qualify for one or both components. Each component has two rates.
•ADP is a non-means-tested benefit.
•ADP is disregarded as income for means-tested benefits and tax credits and can be paid in addition to most other benefits.
•ADP is administered and paid by Social Security Scotland.
•If you disagree with a determination about ADP, you can request a redetermination and then appeal against it (see
Chapter 80). You must request a redetermination before you can appeal.
