2. Carer’s allowance
If your child gets the middle or highest rate of the care component of disability living allowance or child disability payment or either rate of the daily living component of personal independence payment, you may get carer’s allowance for looking after them (see Chapter 8). Carer’s allowance is not means tested, but if you are working, you cannot earn more than £128 a week (after deductions for certain allowable expenses) – see Chapter 8(5).
