•The amount of tax credits to which you are entitled depends on your family circumstances and your income.
•There are no limits on the amount of savings or other capital that you can have.
•If you get income support (IS), income-based jobseeker’s allowance (JSA), income-related employment and support allowance (ESA) or pension credit (PC), you automatically get the maximum amount of tax credits that you could receive.
•If you do not get IS, income-based JSA, income-related ESA or PC, you may get less than your maximum amount of tax credits, depending on the level of your income.
•Your maximum amount of child tax credit depends on how many children you have, and whether any child in your family has a disability.
•The amount of working tax credit depends on whether you are single with no dependants, a lone parent or a member of a couple, the hours you work, whether you (or your partner) are disabled, and whether you have eligible childcare costs.
