Brexit
The UK left the European Union (EU) on 31 January 2020. At the time of writing, there is a transition period which is due to end on 31 December 2020. During the transition period, European Economic Area (EEA) nationals and their family members hold their existing rights under EU law and also any additional rights obtained through the EU Settlement Scheme. It is important to be aware of both of these systems for EEA nationals while the transition period is in place.
